• Malaysia is one of Southeast Asia’s most pleasant and hassle-free countries with a vibrant and wealthy fusion of Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous cultures and customs.

Malaysia's Western-style industrialisation is abundantly clear in its big cities. But besides the gleaming 21st century towers, Malaysia boasts some of the most exotic islands with superb beaches, wild national parks and forest reserves, cool hill resorts and mountains and historic heritage places found in Asia.

This colourful country is divided into six main regions, namely the Northern Region, Central Region, Southern Region, East Coast, Sabah, and Sarawak.
  • Malaysia is hot and humid pretty much all year round with temperatures rarely dropping below 20°C (68°F), even at night, and usually climbing to 30°C (86°F) or more during the day. Although the humidity is high you can always escape to the cool hill resorts in peninsular Malaysia. The region has a monsoonal climate, but only the east coast of peninsular Malaysia has a real rainy season. It's best to avoid the November to January rainy season on peninsular Malaysia's east coast if you want to enjoy the beaches. The wettest season on the west coast of the peninsula is between September and December; on the east coast and in Sabah and Sarawak it's between October and February. Rain, when it comes, generally interrupts the sunshine only briefly; most of it falls in short, strong bursts. It rarely rains all day.
